In short
- No account, no email, no phone number.
- Room and private messages, and photos, are deleted five minutes after they are sent.
- Your IP address is never stored as it is, only as a code we can't reverse.
- A message is kept longer only if someone reports it.
Who we are
iLoveChat (ilovechat.in) is run by Sana, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("we", "us"). For the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.
What we collect
- When you join: your nickname, gender, and a check that you are 18 or older. Your date of birth is used for that check and not kept.
- Your network: a keyed code made from your IP address, used to limit abuse and to enforce bans. It cannot be turned back into your address without our secret key.
- What you send: room messages and private messages, deleted from our servers, and from the screen, five minutes after they are sent. Game moves pass between the two players and are never stored.
- Photos and GIFs: shared only in private chats. Our server passes a photo on to the other person and does not store it. A photo is resized on your phone before it is sent, which removes its location and camera details. For five minutes we keep a fingerprint of it (not the photo), so a report of it can be checked. If the person you sent it to reports it, their copy is kept with the report, for moderators, up to 180 days.
- Who you have talked to: the people you have written to, invited or played with, and whether you take messages from new people. Kept while your session lasts (up to a day), so those people can keep talking to you.
- Reports: the reported message or photo as it was shown, both nicknames, and the network code. Kept up to 180 days.
- Daily counts: how many people visited and joined each day. Numbers only.
What we don't do
No advertising trackers, no selling data, no profiles. On this device we keep your session and your look (day or night) in the browser's storage, so a reload carries on.
Who we share it with
Our hosting providers (servers, database), and the authorities when the law requires it or a child is at risk. Cloudflare checks that you are human when you join.
Your rights
Leaving iLoveChat from the menu ends your session at once. For anything else under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, write to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
